I've got loads of pics but they'll have to wait cos a) this computer doesn't want to upload them and b) the grandmother (and every other family member in this cafe) is SCREAMING down the phone and it is driving me insane.
So, in case any of you were wondering whether i was still alive since i havent been corresponding for some time i thought i'd blog to let you know that i am alive...barely!
I've been crook. I predicted that as soon as i was on my own i would get sick and of course it has come true! Giardia and E-Coli combined to launch a formidable assault on my digestive organs a few days ago and as a result i didn't leave Pushkar (tiny pilgrimmage town, pop 20 000. maybe even more cows) on a night bus that i had a ticket for 4 nights ago. instead i booked into a nicer hotel and havent left. in fact yesterday was the first time i physically left the hotel at all! im on meds and on the mend and should be on a relaxing 15 hour bus trip to Rishikesh, in the north, tomorrow night. From there i will blog.
In the meantime, email me! i can't receive any texts at the moment for some reason (though my phone works in every other way) but tomorrow i will be online again. for now it's back to the hotel for another nap (so sick of sleeping!), some lunch (oooh it's been a while!), and maybe some more reading.

hope you're feeling better than you have been, sar. good to hear you've checked yourself into a vaguely comfortable hotel. rest up, and don't eat anything too exotic! if only you drank coke. apparently its so toxic and acidic that it kills any bugs in your stomach!
when's the best time to give you a call? can you receive calls on your mob?? let me know so i can catch you at a time when you can talk!

How goes india? Its so funny reading your blog and watching the checklist of indian idiosycracies build.
Getting sick, sleeping with loud snoring TB like men on trains, the road hierachy....its so funny to remember all those things........have you come across the same man in like 10 different towns yet?> I swear i had the same rickshaw driver follow me all across India!!!

yes i think it will be cool toreminisce about india. cos that would mean i was no longer in India! no i am really loving it, especially up here in the mountains. It's raining! in India! it's nice.
