Musical Hibernation

Wow. I have missed seven months worth of popular music.

Working in an office with a radio, having mtv and vh1 on the telly at home, and regularly heading out to our favourite indie club Whelans, are all helping me to get back in musical shape. Still, at times i feel overwhelmed, and decidedly uncool.

I'm currently loving that new song 'I bet you look good on the dance floor' by a little known new group called the Arctic Monkeys. We also love The Raconteurs' 'Steady as She Goes'. My other new favourite is 'Rebellion (lies)' by Arcade Fire. I'm all excited just thinking bout it.

I'm currently hating the Shakira song and the Nelly Furtado song. They play those each hour throughout the day on the radio. The vapid Voodoo Child by aussies Rogue Traders is unfortunately also on high rotation. Luckily Wolfmother is being equally hyped.

I'm currently always getting the Razorlight song 'In the morning' in my head. And on Saturday night i developed a theory that the singer is actually Irish, and that therefore when he sings what sounds like 'and now your sheets are dirty; the streets are dirty too..' he is actually saying that the streets are thirty two years old.

In a month and a bit we head to the Electric Picnic festival. Can't wait!!! It's gonna be so cool! The lineups of the summer festivals here put the Aussie ones to shame. Whereas we'd usually get all silly over a festival with 3 great international headliners, here you get 10 of the same calibre playing each day. Check out www.electricpicnic.ie for details.

SARAH YOUR READ MY HEAD!!!!

LOVE THAT SONG MY ARCADE FIRE! AND THAT ONE BY ARTIC MONKEYS! sure due to current lack of radio i may have only heard these songs a handful of times, but still the love is there. ya know!
need education on the racounterery people but knowing you i have no qualms that my musical scope will be furthenedd.

Also am hating that shakira song, sorry mon, but i want shoot the woman everytime i hear it. No shooting is too kind

meanwhile malin please call me tonight, spoke to the bank and they rekon the bond money may not get there till monday. hmmm not good.

Also i was in love with that Gnarls Barkely (he is at your festival) Crazy song, until i worked at this super rich party friday night. Sure they may have owned this million dollar apartment and had a 100 inch television and all that jazz. but do you think they could download more then 7 songs and use them for thier play list! NO! 8pm till 230 in the morning! i mean people surely the mojitos i were mixing were not that strong and you could find some other music to put on your bang and oulfsen!

ok im gonna go. sorry for my outburst.
Big love.
