TALKING BOUT A HEATWAAAVE!!!!!!!

From today's Irish Independent:

Temperatures in Kilkenny hit a boiling point of 29 degrees yesterday as the country basked in the beating sun on the hottest day of the year....

Hehehe. We have all been barely surviving the oppressive, 'sweltering heat wave' of the last few days. And get this - Met Eireann - the Irish BOM - forecasts that temperatures could soar to about 30 tomorrow.

Help us! How will we survive?

If we were Irish we would do one of the following:

-come to work and moan about the heat
aargh come on, humans have survived such extremes before, and will again.

- walk around the main streets of Dublin semi naked.
nooo! my eyes! my eeyyyeeesss! you are iridescent!

-buy an ice cream
you're a grown man in a suit. Or at least you were, until you started undressing in the high street. You look silly.

- go to a 'beach' aka a smelly bay that is one foot deep. Pash each other and take feral naughty photos on the sand next to rubbish and glass.
We went to the beach at Howth on Sunday. It was ok. But I'd even take Bondi over this beach! At least there are hot people there. No piglets spotted this time, at least.

-get drunk.
Only because it's so hot...

Well if I have to...

Everyone in my office looks at me like I am an insane mad woman whenever I say 'Oh it is so nice!'

And instead of coffee runs it is ice cream runs because whoa it has reach the mid 20s! So everyone in the office puts in their ice cream order and then sits and their desk licking the Cornetto!

It is really surprising how much it dominates the conversation for the entire day! You seriously only talk about how hot it is and how everyone is MELTING today!

End comment! thank you for blogging!

My toes are so cold right now that i could probably put them in a glass of milk and make ice cream.

But, as Kendall pointed out, it comforts us that in your neck of the woods it's only summer for 3 weeks of the year and winter the rest.

Ah Ha! Check mate!

hellooo long lost travellers in ye olde Irelande! its been forever that you've been gone - 7 months and counting if i am right? (probably not - i am delirious with tiredness. i tell my mum i have chronic fatigue cos i am always tired. she just says to shutup and go to bed earlier... whatev.) But it doesn't matter because tomorrow i get the first of 4 days of work to do that big, long, winding drive we all know so well, up to byron for (drumroll...) Splendour! Horay! Sonic Youth, Death Cab, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Mogwai... bliss! (but i am already sad that the usual crew won't be there =(. oh well, you're on the other side of the world after all). Guess what the weather forecast for the northern rivers region is? 10-17 and rain, rain, rain. AND the entire city of sydney has sold out of gumboots. i am going to have cold, wet feet. yuck. If only Ireland and Australia could swap weathers... Guess what!? i went on a rage shoot for an i/v with Tom Morello. He's less cool with his curls gone. gah... time for bed. say hi to all (or 'hi' to all, if you're reading) and i will write you a proper email soon. but just wanted to say hi and i am alive and check that you are too. you are. good. this is possibly the longest blog comment ever. whatev. til soon.
