Musical Chairs

I have been made aware that just because i am now back at home doesn't give me an excuse to discontinue the posting of silly photos and rude words. So, over the next coupla weeks, as i laze around in the Sydney sun and do bugger all, i will endeavour to upload some piccies and stories for you, my fans.

First of all, MUSIC. since i have gotten back i have been studiously researching all the awesome 'new' music that has flown over my head this year...particularly the aussie stuff that didn't get anywhere near my head. Since i returned i have been to two festivals - Peats Ridge for 3 days over New Years, and the odd Sonic Bloom at Pittwater on thursday. Will blog more 'bout them. Other than that, it's been lots of Triple J, fbi, street press, music websites and semi stalkings on myspace.

SO, today I've mostly been listening to:

Gotye - this dude is brilliant! he lives near Melbourne. Check out www.myspace.com/gotye - especially 'your hearts a mess' and 'out here in cold'. love love love

Angus and Julia Stone - bro and sis team from Newport. They sing beautiful songs and have a very pretty website (www.angusandjuliastone.com) and myspace too where you can hear lots of their songs - especially Paper Aeroplane and Mango Tree.

iOTA - ok, not entirely new, but he does have a new album out and the current single, 'Come Back to Me' is so good! Blew me away, as always, at Peats Ridge. He's playing a few gigs around and will be reprising his lead role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch soon - excitment! www.iota.com/audio.htm

Kate Miller-Heidke and Mia Dyson are also current favs.
