What a way to spend new years eve (and the two preceeding days and nights)!!
Peats Ridge is a gorgeous, laid back, hippy festival in the beautiful Glenworth Valley. They used to hold festivals there back in the 90s and Marge and I went to two when we were still at school. The area is just as amazing as ever, but this time around the festival was more focussed on sustainability and eco-living, which was cool.
We camped in a glen of gum trees near a creek surrounded by mountains and woke up (or just got to bed) to the sound of Kookaburras and a million other native birds every morning.
Aaaaaaah yes i am back in Australia!
12 stages. Hundreds of bands (i'd heard of maybe 20 of them!?). Great food, market stalls, lots of families and people with kick-arse campsite set-ups. Laid back security, performance art everywhere you turned and the most perfect weather you could ever ask for!
Everyone was partying every night but there were no idiotic Aussie boozeheads...those boofs that tend to be omnipresent at music festivals...SWEET.

Crazy as a coconut!
A few of my favourite things:
- the property - soooo beautiful!
- our campsite - trees everywhere...a private ownerless hammock...goon o clock...
- the music! Iota, Old Man River, Jack Shit, Jess Maynard, Dirty Lucy, Kel Stoner...and all the other random acts whose names i didnt quite catch...
- the Bohemian Love Tent (this was a stage...not our tent...)
- festival boys. haha!
-compost toilets. Still smelled like woodchips after 3 days.
- Not needing to organise to meet people, just running into them everywhere - Yuko and friends! Penny and Tori! The French Corn Boys!
-Hare Krishna stall the only food stall open after 10 = Hare Krishna food for dinner 3 out of 3 nights!
- Chilling out loads and silliness maximus
- my makeshift masquerade mask - who knew half a paper plate and Yuko's eyeliner and lip gloss could be transformed into such a creation!?

Things that made me sad (or angry, or just mildly unamused):
- Claire having a little too much to drink on new years - let's just say I drove us both home the next day in her car!
- 8 Ball Aitken and identity theft. Actually this was funny.
- Marge leaving us for New Years to go to a parte in Sydney :(
- not having a program on the first day so missing lots of good bands.
- Losing my thongs (what's my blog title again??) and feeling like i was walking in snow at 5am on New Years Day.
- no tent pegs again and waiting in line for an hour to buy 7 shit old mismatched ones. Ah least the tent stayed up!
- mozzies. kinda forgot they existed.
- not being at Falls :(. But don't get me wrong, PR was BRILLLLIANT. When's the next one??

(Definitive proof that i am in Australia.)
