Today is the 80th b'day of the Nobel Prize-winning godfather of magical realism, Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
The Columbian maestro of the written word penned one of my favourite books ever, One Hundred Years of Solitude.
In Spain they celebrated with a marathon reading of his most famous novel. 80 politicians, writers and actors took turns to read 15 minute snippets of the gorgeously imaginative opus. It took them 20 hours. I suggest that out of respect, we do the same at Tim's party on Saturday night.
Happy B'day 'Gabo', as he is known to his millions of close friends in the Spanish speaking world.

when i was there i bikeroad out to one of the big gorges. everyone thought i was insane, but it was good times.
